The Department offers a weekly seminar program featuring recent work by outstanding statistical scientists from around the world. Attendance is required for all PhD students. As a rule, the first seminar of each month is part of Biostatistics Grand Rounds, which is dedicated to the practice of biostatistics throughout the Johns Hopkins Health Institutions and features presentations and discussions of statistics as applied to real health and medical problems. As with departmental seminars, attendance at Grand Rounds is required for all PhD students. Grand Rounds announcements are distributed via email and posted on the departmental website.
