Some solutions for hw 4. Note Dorry pointed out some corrections. In problem 4.e correct the "likVals" with "likeVals" in the code. In problem 7.e the 1.96 was not squared when plugging into the equation. The correct number should be $9,220$. In problem 8 correct the "phat" to a "ptilde" in the calculation of the adjusted interval. In problem 10 please correct to subtract time 2 from time 1.

Problem 4 of the homework should read: "Suppose that an influenza epidemic strikes a city and in 17% of families at least one of the parents has contracted influenza. In 10% of the families the mother has contracted influenza while in 2% of the cities both the mother and father have contracted influenza."
