Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is attendance at labs required?  What happens if I cannot attend?

Lab attendance is not required but is recommended.  Handouts from labs will be posted on the web site.  You can visit TA office hours to find out what happened in lab if you cannot attend.  Labs will be mostly review of computing packages, questions and answer sessions, or homework review.  However, occasionally new lecture material will be presented, and if that is the case, an announcement will be made during normal lecture time to allow you to plan your schedule accordingly.

  1. Can homework be handed in late?

No, not without penalty.  We must insist on this in fairness to the rest of the class, in order to post answer solutions on the web and return graded homework quickly.  Homework may be turned in up until 5PM on the due date in room E3527.

  1. If I miss a lecture, how can I find out what I missed?

Lectures are presented on the blackboard.  If you miss a class, you can check with Elizabeth Johnson, who will provide you a description of the material you missed.
