Education:

1992-1996 BS, statistics, Department of Probability & Statistics, Peking University

1996-1998 MS program, computer vision and image processing, Center for Information Sciences, Peking University. Advisor: Qing-Yun Shi

1998-2000 MS, statistical genetics, Department of Biomedical Sciences & Osteoporosis Research Center, Creighton University. Advisor: Hong-Wen Deng

2004-?       Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Statistical Genetics, University of Michigan School of Public Health. Advisor: Goncalo Abecasis

Software:

I wrote and maintain the following computer programs:

  LinkageExplorer (2003-2004)

LinkageExplorer can help a statistical geneticist to investigate problems in linkage analysis

GeneFinder (2002-2004) published in Genetic Analysis Software on Rockefeller website

GeneFinder is a computer program developed by Dr. Kung-Yee Liang's group, to localize disease susceptibility genes using GEE approach and pedigree data

TDT Power Calculator  (2001) published in Genetic Analysis Software on Rockefeller website

TDT-PC can help gene-mappers to calculate the statistical power of the Transmission/Disequilibrium test in association study

Selected Publications:

Chen WM, Broman KW, Liang KY (2005) Power and robustness of linkage tests for quantitative traits in general pedigrees. Genet Epidemiol 28:11-23 [161kb, in PDF format][associated computer program]
