THESIS FORMAT FOR JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

The file "format.tex" contains Johns Hopkins University's thesis format and when executed, will do the following things automatically:

  1. Create the front page of the dissertation.
  2. Create a table of contents.
  3. Create a list of tables.
  4. Create a list of figures.
  5. Set page numbers accordingly (Roman and Arabic).
  6. Set the required margins for all pages.

To use this "downloadable" file, you first need to write each part of the thesis (such as abstract, acknowledgements, Chapter 1, etc) as individual LaTex files. Examples of such files may be obtained from Chuanfa Guo upon request. It takes about two or three days to learn how to write a LaTex file. Once all parts of the thesis are done, you should execute the "format.tex" file in LaTex. It will read the individual files and put them together for you in the University's thesis format. The output is the entire dissertation, ready for submission.
