Introduction

This webpage displays the capstone project of Björn F.C. Kafsack for the Masters of Health Sciences in Bioinformatics completed in May 2006 at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore,MD.

In these pages we decribe the development of compartmental model of the invasion kinetics by Toxoplasma gondii. To our knowledge this is the first time that such an approach has been applied to the pathogenesis of intracellular pathogens. The tools we developed will aid in the detailed analysis of this host-pathogen interaction.

This work was done under the mentorship of and in close colaboration with Drs. Vern Carruthers and Fernando Pineda.
