Information for Prospective Students

 Thank you for taking the time to learn about Hopkins Biostatistics, one of the oldest and best biostatistics departments in the world. This page answers a few simple questions to help familiarize you with our discipline and department.  From here, you can view our departmental brochure or check out the many different kinds of activities going on in our department.


  Application Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completed School of Public Health application
  • GRE general score results
  • TOEFL results (if your most recent academic degree is from a university where English is NOT the primary language of instruction)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose

All of the above materials should be submitted by January 15 (for the PhD program) or February 1 (for the ScM and MHS programs) for admission for the following September (ie, apply by January 15, 2006, for consideration for admission in September, 2006).  For more information about admission requirements for the School of Public Health, please contact the School's Admissions Office.
