Fun things to see/do in Baltimore
- Velocipede Bike Cooperative--Work on bikes and even build your own. No prior experience necessary.
- Bocce ball in Little Italy
- Salsa in Baltimore--Lessons usually offered before open dancing time at most events.
- National Aquarium in Baltimore
- Fort McHenry--down Fort street at the end of the Locust Point neighborhood
- Maryland Science Center
- Kinetic Sculpture Race--Amazingly ridiculous race held every May. A must see.
- American Visionary Art Museum
- Events organized by the Edgar Allen Poe Society--Be sure to take in a one-man play at the Poe House in October.
- Maryland Renaissance Festival
- Farmers' Markets in Baltimore--The one in downtown is supposed to be the biggest but i've only ever been to the 32nd street/Waverly one.
- There are always outdoor movies in the summer at numerous locations including Federal Hill (on the grassy hill behind the American Visionary Art Museum), Little Italy, Charles Village, and Fells Point. Look them up.
- Beach volleyball at the inner harbor
- Ghost Tours
- Maryland State Fair--take the light rail. It stops directly in front of the fair entrance.
- For getting around without a car: besides biking, there is the MTA bus system, MARC train, light rail, Charm City Circulator (free), and Zipcar. If you have a Johns Hopkins ID there is also the JHU shuttle system (free) and the CollegeTown shuttle (free). Also try the Water Taxi.
